Five things I learnt from the book ‘Flawed’ by Cecelia Ahern are:
-
“To be courageous is to feel fear within, every step of the way. Courage does not take over; it fights and struggles through every word you say and every step you take. It’s a battle or a dance as to whether to let it pervade. It takes courage to overcome, but it takes extreme fear to be courageous.”

- People aren’t cases. They shouldn’t be defined by labels. In the end, we’re all human, and that should unite us, regardless of our differences.

-
“Everyone likes to look like they know what they’re doing, when really most of the time nobody has a clue.”
We are not alone in our confusion. Regardless of our age, race, gender, profession or background. We all try our best to ‘wing’ things (as my husband often says) at many points in our life. Giving things our best shot and hoping for the best possible outcome sometimes is the best thing to do. Especially when life throws you the unexpected!

“When I was a child, I always thought that to run away, you had to physically get up and run, like children in films. A hateful shout, a slam of a door, then run. I’ve learned that lots of people run away without even going anywhere.”
What’s fascinating about this particular quote, I felt, was how often many do so on daily basis. Some people escape by scrolling endlessly through their social media, others by reading a book, some through plugging in their headphones, the list truly is endless! This means that many people, subconsciously run away from things without even realising how often they do so.

I also wanted to give a special shout out and say thank you to the lovely @herinkedsoul for writing such an intriguing review! Without her, I may never have went in search of the book.
Being a slight perfectionist and over-thinker, I found this book incredibly relate-able. Alongside the MC(main character), we begin to question things like, is being ‘perfect’ really as stress free as it seems? Is being flawed a contagious threat?
The ending had me fan-girl screaming, because….*spoiler alert*…the next part comes out on the 30th of March 2017! (so the end of the book said).
side note: I’m sorry for not having updated in a while, I caught the cold/flu + have been getting frequent headaches recently so I haven’t been feeling all that great. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed this post. I’m still trying to mentally process how it’s March already as well! *whispers* it literally felt like it crept up out of nowhere! I also wanted to say a massive THANK YOU, to all of you new followers and all the incredible support you’ve been showering chasingsakina with recently. It means a lot to me ❤ ~
As always,
Take care + Stay Hyradted
Love,

My favourite, ‘people aren’t cases, they shouldn’t be defined by labels’. Also, running away without moving a muscle is something that really resonates. Thank you for sharing these beautifully written, thought worthy quotes. 🙂

Reflecting what you said about it being March already, and now, it’s April! Masha Allah, time waits for no one. I really love the quotes and your interpretation of them. The one that particularly stood out for me is when you mention- we don’t have to up and leave in order to run away from things. I once wrote a poem on the opposite about how we could pack up and leave but the things we are running from would come along with us
